Wem’afrika saw the lime-light on the 18th of July 2016 with the main objectives to create a constructive nexus between Africa and Africans, emerge the continent through sustainable development and build a peaceful coexistence for African Democracy into global leadership and empowerment.
ABOUT US
With seven founding fathers of this great vision and all final year students at the Pan African Institute for development West Africa (PAID-WA) Buea, Cameroon created a name called WEM’AFRIKA. The name “WEM”
originates from one of our ethnic groups in Cameroon located at the coast known as Douala. The name means “STAND”, “RISE”, “AWAKE”, this is a wakeup call for Africans as well as the continent. Therefore, the Wem’Afrika is Rise Afrika
What we do
Conflit Management (Blue). Conflict management is a department concern with mitigating conflicts and providing solutions to the communities that need assistance to areas especially lands, violence and non- violence.
Security. (black) Security assists the local, national and international policy institutions to contribute on emergency preparedness.
Environment(Green). We protect, preserve and consume our environment with our resources. Through the organization, planting of trees, clubs, and natural plant remedies.
Human rights.(Brown) We are focused on protecting the rights of people, especially the most vulnerable people. Educating the masses with the fundamental rights and rights of the masses especially in period of crises. These rights are obtained from the African Union and the United Nations.
Humanitarian (Red) We assist the population by providing clothes, water, medical facilities and basic food items to the population. This enhances the mitigation of conflicts among the concern communities and assists the government in policy making for the vulnerable communities.
Gender (orange) We support and protect the women on leadership and socio-economic independence by creating opportunities for them. This concerns creating workshops on skills acquisition, public speaking and computer literacy.
Capacity building (white) We encourage our community through motivational videos and shared experiences. Most of our activities are concerned with youths who are confused on what career path to pursue. We visit schools, clubs, seminars, training, Radio, and television presentations.
Wem’afrika is open for partnerships, volunteers and researchers to elevate and create a sustainable Africa.
