Wem’Afrika’s Human Rights Department is committed to promoting and protecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of every individual, especially the most vulnerable. Through advocacy, education, and legal support, we work to ensure dignity, justice, and equality prevail in communities facing conflict, discrimination, or marginalization.

Areas Of Interventions

Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)

We provide support, raise awareness, and advocate for the rights of IDPs displaced by conflict, disaster, or insecurity, ensuring they are treated with dignity and have access to basic services.

Men, Women, and Children’s Rights

We protect and promote the rights of all individuals regardless of gender or age fighting discrimination, abuse, and inequality in all its forms.

Migration

We advocate for safe, orderly, and humane migration, while protecting migrants’ rights and addressing the root causes of forced displacement and irregular migration.

International Human Rights Law

We align our work with global human rights standards, raising awareness on treaties, conventions, and obligations that states must uphold, and supporting access to justice mechanisms.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

We prevent and respond to GBV through community sensitization, survivor support services, legal aid, and engagement with stakeholders to hold perpetrators accountable.
